About BeBriefed

News rarely arrives as one complete picture. BeBriefed brings reporting from multiple publishers together and turns it into concise briefings that explain what happened, why it matters and what sits behind the headline.

How it works

Articles covering the same event are grouped into one Story. BeBriefed identifies the factual claims in each report, preserves their original sources and brings together claims that describe the same fact. Every briefing links back to the reporting used.

What gets published

A briefing is public only when its Story contains reporting from at least two named publishers and has passed BeBriefed’s grounding checks. Publisher count is a practical beta safeguard, not a guarantee that two reports are fully independent.

Ask B

Ask B is BeBriefed’s upcoming AI assistant for exploring current affairs beyond the briefing. It is being developed to let readers ask follow-up questions when they want more explanation, context or clarity about a story.

Ask B is still in development and is not yet available as a complete feature. Its capabilities will expand as BeBriefed develops.

Why it exists

BeBriefed is an independent learning project by Abdulrahman Hirsi, an AI and Computer Science student. It explores how AI can make current affairs easier to understand without hiding uncertainty or where the information came from.

Where AI fits

AI helps organise and explain reporting, generate briefings and support the development of Ask B. AI-generated information can be wrong, so important information should be verified using the linked original articles. BeBriefed does not produce original journalism.

Current limitations

BeBriefed explains recent reporting rather than providing breaking or minute-by-minute coverage. New reporting may take time to be collected, grouped and turned into a grounded briefing.

Briefings are based on the article information BeBriefed has collected, which may be incomplete or change as a story develops. A concise briefing cannot replace the depth of the original reporting, and uncertainty should remain visible rather than being filled with guesses.

Ask B is still in development and is not yet available as a complete feature.

What’s next

BeBriefed is continuing to broaden its range of publishers and topics, improve how quickly important stories become briefings, and develop Ask B. These improvements will be introduced carefully while keeping sources and uncertainty visible.
