Earlier-generation briefing · Verification upgrade pending
What happened
Caroline Elliott, a former B.C. Conservative Party leadership candidate, is running as a party candidate in the West Vancouver-Capilano riding for the October 24 provincial election.
Why it matters
Elliott's candidacy follows her unsuccessful bid for the party leadership, where she lost to Kerry-Lynne Findlay in a final run-off held in May.
Context
The party's 2026 leadership election was held to select a successor to interim leader Trevor Halford, following the resignation of John Rustad in December 2025.
Kerry-Lynne Findlay won the 2026 leadership contest with 51% of the vote and served as party leader from May 2026 until September 2026.
